Features

HydroBorex is organised the way a mud engineer works: enter the day's data, review the calculated results, then report, compare and archive.

Input Input

Data entry screens for each part of the daily work.

Well

Well, rig and operator details, casing and open-hole sections, drill string, bit and depth data.

Mud

Mud checks for water-based and oil-based systems: density, rheology readings, filtration, chemistry and solids content.

Pump

Mud pumps with liner size, stroke, efficiency and stroke rate; flow rate is calculated automatically.

Inventory

Products received, used and returned, with stock on location and product cost.

Volume

Pit volumes, additions, transfers and losses, with a daily volume balance.

Remarks

Engineer's comments, treatments and recommendations for the daily report.

Log

Operations log for the reporting day.

Safety

Safety cards with well checklists, issues and actions taken — included in the report and the recap.

Output Output

Calculated results, updated as soon as the input changes.

Hydraulics

Rheology models (Bingham Plastic, Power Law), pressure losses across the circulating system, ECD, annular velocities and flow regimes.

Solids

Solids analysis for WBM and OBM: low- and high-gravity solids, weighting material, oil/water ratio and related values.

Bit

Bit hydraulics: nozzle velocity, pressure drop at the bit, hydraulic horsepower and impact force.

Concentration

Product concentrations in the active system based on additions and volumes.

Volume

Hole, string and annular volumes, pit totals, circulation times and the daily volume balance.

Recap

End-of-well recap: mud properties, products, volumes and cost by interval, with tables and charts ready for the client report.

Well comparison

Compare several wells side by side — properties, consumption and cost — to plan the next well better.

Reports and exports

Daily reports and recaps to PDF and Excel. Data exchange in WITSML 1.3.1 and 1.4.1.

Units and languages

US oilfield and SI unit systems. The interface and reports are available in Azerbaijani, English and Russian.

Data and backup

Each well is saved in its own HydroBorex file on your computer. Optional encrypted cloud backup is enabled only with the customer's explicit consent.

Licensing and updates

A licence is activated on one computer with a licence code. Terms of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. The program works offline and checks the licence online only periodically; when the term ends, your data remains available for viewing and export. Updates are delivered through the program.

Hydraulics calculations are based on the formulas of API RP 13D (rheology and hydraulics of oil-well drilling fluids). Field test data entry and solids calculations follow the procedures of API RP 13B (field testing of water-based and oil-based drilling fluids). HydroBorex uses these published methods; the software is not certified or endorsed by API.
